OPPO announced on its online press conference the launch of its ColorOS 11, being one of the first OEMs to bring the latest Andriod 11 to OPPO users worldwide. With the concept of ‘Make Life Flow’, ColorOS embraced the latest features of Andriod 11 but providing the customisations that OPPO users seek. The launch by OPPO was after Google’s Andriod 11 announcement which shows the close collaboration between both companies. So what new features are there in ColorOS 11?
Your personal UI
ColorOS brings along endless UI customisations that allow users to shape their own smartphone experiences. From Always-On-Display to themes and to fonts, you have the power to create them to your own preferences. Finally, a personalised UI that you can be proud to call yours.
With that, ColorOS 11 expands Andriod 11’s Dark mode into three colours schemes and levels of contrast. Now you can decide what is the new ‘dark mode’ for yourself.
Other than that, OPPO Relax 2.0 allow you to create your own white noise with an immersive collection of sounds from cities around the world. Want to hear the sound water flowing across Venice, Italy? It is in your OPPO phone!
Efficiency like never before
ColorOS seeks to boost your productivity than before with its latest collaboration with Google, bringing you their latest feature ‘Three Finger Translate’. Powered by Google Lens, all you need to do is take a screenshot and it will be translated. Say goodbye to language barriers!
Love gaming or watching videos but what if your friends and family decide to drop you a text? Does that sound familiar? With ColorOS 11’s Flexdrop, a new feature brought to users, you can now watch your videos while replying your texts at the same time. No more interruptions! Furthermore, users can have full access to their smart devices at home with a new Device Control menu, without downloading new apps.
Even with a low battery level, OPPO ColoOS 11’s Super Power Saving Mode allows you to select up to six apps to run. With Battery Guard, the user’s charging habits will be learned to protect the battery from damages by prolonged charging with unstable power voltages. It will pause charging when the battery reaches 80% and resume charging to 100% by the time the user wakes up.
The smoothness that ‘Make Life Flow’
With high frame rate being pushed out in smartphones, a common issue faced by consumers is the stutter and lags that come along. ColorOS 11 seeks to solve this with its UI First 2.0, which is powered by OPPO’s proprietary lag-reducing engine with Quantum Animation. This will boost RAM utilisation by 45%, improves the response rate by 32% and the frame rate by 17%. With AI App Preloading, OPPO smartphones learn the user behaviours to preload the most-used apps, to reduce loading time. SuperTouch identifies user scenarios and optimises the phone’s touch response speed to improve system fluency.
Your privacy matters
ColorOS 11 with the latest Andriod 11’s newly added privacy options, created a series of additional privacy protection and data security features to protect the user’s privacy. No more prying eyes when you are surfing the internet and want to hide apps from unwanted intrusion. Private System creates a separate system where you can run a second version of an app that you want while being independent of the original. All these can only be accessed via your fingerprint or password.
A new shortcut to App Lock can now allow you to lock apps with your password, fingerprints or facial verification. With an enhanced permission system, when the app is closed, temporary permissions will be granted to reset the camera, microphone and location access. When the app has not been used for a long time, the permissions will be reset to default.
When will you receive the ColorOS 11 update?
Whether you are an existing OPPO user or a new OPPO user, ColorOS 11 will be coming to you. Starting from 14th September 2020, OPPO FIND X2 series will be the first to receive the software update, followed by the Reno Series. Look out for the ColorOS 11 software update on your phone and get ready for it to ‘Make Life Flow’.
