Microsoft Surface devices are now available for preorder, Surface Studio gets a long-awaited update

With immediate effect, the Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 are available for pre-order through its commercial authorised resellers, authorised retailers and the Microsoft Store. To value-add to the preorders, orders of the Surface Pro 9 before 17 November will receive a complimentary Surface Pro Signature Keyboard (worth S$268).

Preorders of the Surface Laptop 5 before 25 October receives a complimentary Microsoft USB-C® Travel Hub and a 4-year Microsoft Extended Hardware Service warranty with their order.

After 6 years of waiting, the Microsoft Surface Studio 2+ is the company’s much-anticipated update for its iconic device. It now features faster CPU performance and GPU rendering abilities.

On the basis of the signature built-in kickstand, the laptop features a 13” edge-to-edge PixelSense display, with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a wide range of colours. Topped off with an HD camera, Omnisonic speakers, directional microphones, and Microsoft’s custom G6 (inking) chip, the device will easily handle any teleconferences with note-taking sessions.

With the choice of either the 12th Gen Intel® Core processor, or Microsoft SQ®3 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon, users needing 5G connectivity can pick the latter option. In either case, users will be getting the same iconic Surface Pro form, great performance, all-day battery life, and Secured-core capabilities.

The Intel option brings about up to 50% more performance than its predecessor and the Microsoft In-house chips provides new AI features through the new Neural Processing Unit (NPU) whilst providing up to 19 hours of battery life.

Dedicated towards its craftsmanship, the Surface Laptop 5 prides itself on its all-day battery on the latest Intel Evo platform – for a 50% performance boost. The signature 3:2 PixelSense display comes in 13.5” or 15” options with Dolby Vision IQ as standard, these displays offer the best possible picture with vibrant colours and sharp contrast.

Perfectly tuned speakers with Dolby Atmos 3D spatial processing, with a front-facing HD camera and Studio Microphones will ensure that users get the best portrayal in media consumption and when presenting themselves in front of others.

After its initial release in October 2016, the Surface Studio 2+ utilises an updated Intel Core H-35 processor – up to 50% faster, and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 discrete graphics to double the graphics performance, achieving the most realistic ray-traced graphics when rendening both 2D and 3D designs.

Retaining its elegant design, this iteration sports an enhanced and modernized display, cameras, Studio Mics, and ports, while also fulfilling the Secured-core PC standards for handling highly-sensitive data. The improved hardware will go in tandem with the new Microsoft Designer app and a digital pen for enhanced productivity and creative expression.

Availability and Pricing

The new Surface devices are currently available for pre-orders via commercial authorized resellers (AsiaPac Distribution, Insight Technology Solutions, JK Technology and UIC Asian Computer Services).

Authorized retailers include Best Denki, Challenger, Courts, Gain City, Harvey Norman, and Microsoft authorized stores on Lazada and Shopee and Microsoft Store.
