Hitting the PC experience with Harmony OS

With the launch of Huawei MatePad Pro and MatePad 11 on 13 August 2021, Huawei aims to bring the PC-like experience to consumers, powered by Huawei’s Harmony OS. This move by Huawei brings Harmony OS to consumers in view of delivering a seamless experience across Huawei’s devices.

A PC-like experience powered by Harmony OS

As the first Huawei devices to feature Harmony OS, the Huawei MatePad Pro and MatePad 11 are equipped with a suite of tools to deliver an intuitive experience to users on maximising productivity.

On the Harmony OS Home Screen, users can not only find their most frequently used apps but also their recently used apps all located at the Bottom Dock for easier access. With New Service Widgets, users can conveniently access certain app features which are fully customisable to users’ preferences.

Users can expect three different modes to support them in multi-screen collaboration between the tablet and a PC. These are the three modes :

• Mirror Mode: Project the PC screen onto the MatePad 11 which instantly transforms the tablet into a drawing pad for quick sketches and delicate calligraphy works.
• Extend Mode: Turns the MatePad 11 into a second screen for more screen space. Office workers can take advantage of Extend Mode and get a second screen for the PC.
• Collaborate Mode: Enable true cross-platform interactions by enabling users to transfer text, images and documents between connected devices with a simple drag and drop function.

Both tablets support the Smart Magnetic Keyboard which can be easily connected via Bluetooth and transformed into a portable desktop PC. The vegan leather keyboard folio features a 1.3mm key travel distance for comfortable typing while the SHIFT key doubles as a toggle for Huawei Share.

Upgraded Huawei M-Pencil (2nd Gen) Support

To complement both tablets, Huawei offers the upgraded Huawei M-Pencil (2nd Gen), sold separately. With 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt support and a tip made of a unique composite material, users are delivered with incredible accuracy, responsiveness and sensitivity from the pencil for an overall better drawing experience.
