The Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro will soon be available in Singapore

While inheriting the flashy aesthetics from the previous iterations, the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro  boasts an advanced triple-camera system with optical zoom, which is supported by a powerful Snapdragon® processor.

Hardware aside, the Nothing Phone 3a series aims to make AI an integral part of the user experience – through the release of Essential Space.

Design

Based on the essence of Nothing phone design, the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro introduces a more refined aesthetic – with upgraded glass back panels, enhanced symmetry in the internal structure, with enhanced details beneath the glass.

Both variants come with a 6.77-inch OLED display, capable of up to 120Hz refresh rate. The screen brightness of up to 3000 nits with HDR support ensures high visibility in different lighting conditions.

Rear Camera upgrades

For the first time since its introduction, the Nothing Phone 3a series introduces optical zoom alongside an upgraded 50MP main sensor and a Sony ultra-wide sensor. The featured 50MP telephoto lens integrates a fast f/2.0 aperture for detailed shots at its 50mm equivalent focal length – for high resolution lossless zoom to capture minor details.

Providing up to 4x lossless in-sensor zoom, the Phone (3a) utilises AI clarity-enhancing algorithms for 30x ultra zoom.

On the Pro variant, a large 1/1.95-inch Sony LYTIA 600 sensor (with a 70mm equivalent focal length and a fast f/2.55 aperture) produces superior periscope zoom capability. The periscope camera is responsible for capturing photos across differing lighting conditions, while the optical 3x zoom is a photographer-favourite, portrait-perfect focal length.

While capable of up to 6x lossless in-sensor zooming, AI enhancement brings zooming up to 60x. Additionally, the telemacro capture is raved for its ability to focus as close as 15 cm from a subject.

Front Camera upgrade – for AI-enhanced video recording

The Phone (3a) boasts a 32 MP front camera, while the Phone (3a) Pro features an upgraded 50 MP front camera – capable of recording high-quality 4K videos with adaptive AI stabilisation. Thanks to night video enhancement, brightness of videos are increased by +74.4% with noise reduction by 33.7% compared to Phone (2a).

Chipset performance

To power the slew of AI-powered features, the Nothing Phone 3a series utilises The Snapdragon® 7s Gen 3 Mobile Platform. This chipset delivers better gaming frame rates and better battery life – with the additional option of Snapdragon Elite Gaming™ features typically reserved for flagship devices.

While being twice as efficient than the past iteration at AI-related tasks, the device comes with RAM booster – uses a combination of physical and virtual RAM to allow users to access up to 20GB.

Alongside the optimised energy efficiency of the new chipsets, both variants contain a large 5000 mAh battery – delivering up to two days of use on a full charge. A maximum 50W fast charge rating means that the Phone (3a) Series delivers a full day’s power (50%) in under 20 minutes.

Essential Space and AI capabilities

Easily accessible by the newly-integrated Essential Key on the side of the phone, Essential Space is an AI-powered portfolio which automatically organises screenshots, voice memos, photos, and other miscellaneous files.

The voice memo feature, in particular will transcribe voice memos for easy access. Meanwhile, other personal data on the device will be organised for easy retrieval. Essential Space is currently available for early access – including upcoming features set for launch in the coming months such as Camera Capture, Smart Collections, Focused Search and Flip to Record.

Availability and Pricing

The Nothing Phone 3a is currently available for Preorder while preorder for the Pro variant starts from 22 March 2025. The former will be publicly available in Singapore 22 March, while the latter will be publicly available on 1 April. The details of the devices are as follows
