Google Pay’s Huat Pals is back – with Snax as this year’s mascot

As Chinese New Year this year draws nearer, seize the chance to earn bountiful rewards through the annual Huat Pals with Google Pay. From now till 2 February 2025, users can anticipate attractive prizes – including but not limited to scratch cards worth up to S$88 or even a Pixel device.

Alongside a new Snake-inspired character – Snax, users can expect to collect delicious tokens resembling Lunar New Year goodies whilst going on a shopping spree. These tokens include – New Year Cake, Love letters, Kueh bangkit, Mini shrimp rolls and Pineapple Tart.

To qualify for a goodie, simply complete any of the following actions on Google Pay:

  • Make eligible transactions above $5 with merchants via:
    • Pay via FavePay QR
    • Pay via PayNow QR or UEN
  • Send money (amount above $10) to a friend (*Recipient must be a Google Pay user)
  • Gift a goodie to a friend and receive one bonus goodie per unique friend you gift

Additional incentives from local merchants

Clinch special vouchers from partners such as Klook, Ryde, TADA and McDonald’s through the following daily games found in the Google Pay app.

Collect Daily Collectibles – Open the Huat Pals section in the Google Pay app at least once daily to receive goodies

Bonus twist on Google search

On the first day of Lunar New Year (29 January 2025), visit the Google Search homepage to admire the special Google Doodle – snake year edition. Additionally, try out the classic snake game by clicking on the doodle – with a modern twist such as the multiplayer mode.
