Google announced the Pixel and Pixel XL during their press event on Oct 4, 2016 – The first smartphones as part of the Google Pixel line. The Pixel has the highest rated smartphone camera. Ever. A battery that lasts all day. Unlimited storage for all your photos and videos. And it’s the first phone with the Google Assistant built in.

Hold on. You must be surely thinking, are the Pixel phones the real deal or talk cock one? Well, let us enlighten you.
[/cs_text][x_custom_headline level=”h2″ looks_like=”h4″ accent=”false”]What’s so Shiok?[/x_custom_headline][x_image type=”none” src=”https://techlingo.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/PIxel-1.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][cs_text class=”cs-ta-left”]In the past, Google relied on its Nexus program (a collaboration with several smartphone hardware manufacturers) to provide Android lovers a taste of the best they had to offer – only to fall short of perfection annually.. be it a shitty camera, subpar pair of speakers, or lousy build quality. Trust us, it was unpleasantly sian.

The Pixel is Google’s answer to the world of Android. Finally, we see a seamless blend of premium hardware and polished software from the multibillionaire company. Apple and Microsoft have been successful with evolutionary products like the iPhone and Surface Book, designing every single thing from scratch. In the same fashion, the Pixel and Pixel XL are two very promising products that could change how we interact and experience smartphones on a daily basis.[/cs_text][x_custom_headline level=”h2″ looks_like=”h4″ accent=”false”]Hardware Perks[/x_custom_headline][x_image type=”none” src=”https://techlingo.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/google-pixel-phone-2.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][cs_text class=”cs-ta-left”]Camera recieved highest ever score by DxOMark with a rating of 89, outperforming their Apple and Samsung counterparts. Perfect for Instagram addicts.

Screen resolution and quality is on point. The Google Pixel and the bigger XL version rock 5″inch FullHD and 5.5″inch QHD displays respectively. These screens are comparable to that of Samsung SuperAMOLED panels in terms of colour temperature and saturation. Yes, if you’re a korean drama loving aunty, these phones are calling out to you. And they don’t explode.

Processor
isn’t something Google skimmed on too! The Pixel gets its brain from Qualcomm’s latest chip, the Snapdragon 821. If this is starting to get a lil’ too cheem, just know that the Pixel can also be a kan cheong spider.

Similar to Microsoft’s Cortana or Apple’s Siri, Assistant is Google’s conversational AI helper. This is as personal as Google can get. “Can decide where to for lunch?” No worries, ask Google to google it for you. You’ll never have to google again. Let Google do it for you. [/cs_text][x_custom_headline level=”h2″ looks_like=”h3″ accent=”false”]The Bad[/x_custom_headline][x_image type=”none” src=”https://techlingo.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Pixel-Colours.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][cs_text class=”cs-ta-left”]Price for a 32 GB model, the Pixel starts at US$649 and the Pixel XL at US$769. Both are available for preorder* — except the blue version, which is sold out. Ho seh Liao. Priced exactly the same as the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, these devices will also break the bank.

Availability?
*For the US, Australia, Canada, Germany and the UK

Enough said.
[/cs_text][x_custom_headline level=”h2″ looks_like=”h3″ accent=”false”]Got Lobang?[/x_custom_headline][cs_text class=”cs-ta-left”]As of today, the only source we’ve managed to confirm shipment of the Pixel phones to SG is by MobyShop Singapore. The exported phones will only be available in 2-3 months, with prices unconfirmed at this point in time.

We’ll do our best to keep you guys in the loop, so stay tuned.
